est. 1998

Established in 1998, Elefence is a non-profit 501 (C)3 dedicated to safeguarding both people and wildlife. Elefence began when Dick Houston and Bruce Lowe met through connections with a UK-based conservation organization. They quickly realized that they had a common philosophy and mission, and so decided to found their own US -based nonprofit conservation entity.

Since its founding, Elefence International has established a presence in Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi, supporting substantial and ongoing projects in each of these Central African Countries. Some twenty-seven years later, the philosophy is as alive as ever, and the mission continues.
